Language Learning Link

About the Project

This project was a website redesign for a private education practice that supports language, literacy, and learning needs. The practice serves multiple audiences, including families with school-age children, adults who want to strengthen reading and writing skills, educators and clinicians seeking training, and schools looking for professional support.

The goal was to create a clear, welcoming website that helps visitors quickly understand the services offered, who the practice helps, and what to do next. The site needed to work well for busy parents, professionals, and school partners who want answers without searching through long pages or confusing menus.

The Brief

The client wanted a website that felt professional and supportive, while also making it easy for visitors to find the right service. The key requirements included:

  • A clean, modern design that feels calm and friendly for families who may be stressed or overwhelmed.
  • Clear service organization for different audiences: families, adults, educators/clinicians, and school districts.
  • Simple navigation that helps visitors choose the right path without guessing.
  • A strong homepage that explains what the practice does in a few seconds and guides visitors to the next step.
  • Space for testimonials and reviews to build trust.
  • A content structure that supports future growth, including blog posts, resources, courses, and training offers.
  • Basic tracking and search setup so performance can be measured and improved over time.

They also shared design inspiration references to help guide layout, tone, and overall style direction.

Our Approach

We started by mapping the site around the main reasons people visit: finding support for a child, getting adult services, learning about training and mentorship, or exploring school-based support. From there, we built a structure that keeps choices clear and reduces extra clicks.

The website was organized into core sections with easy-to-scan pages:

  • Home (quick overview, main service paths, and clear calls to action)
  • About (background, approach, and credibility)
  • Services broken out by audience:
    • For Families with Children (reading/writing support, speech-language support, tutoring/executive functioning, consultations, evaluations, summer programs)
    • For Adults (reading/writing support)
    • For Educators & Clinicians (courses and mentorship)
    • For Schools (contracting, evaluations, and training)
  • Who We Serve (clear explanation of who benefits from services)
  • Blog (education-focused articles and updates)
  • Reviews (trust building and social proof)
  • FAQs (common questions in plain language)
  • Contact (clear steps to reach out and request next steps)

Design

The design direction focused on clarity and comfort. We kept pages clean, reduced clutter, and used simple layouts that help readers scan quickly. Since the website serves both families and professionals, the visual style needed to feel welcoming without looking childish, and professional without feeling stiff.

We planned the homepage to do three jobs well:

  • Explain what the practice does in one quick message
  • Show clear service options for each audience
  • Offer an easy next step (contact, consultation, or booking)

We also made sure there was room for credibility elements such as certifications, affiliations, and training experience, along with testimonials that speak to real outcomes and experiences.

Development & Features

The build included the core features needed for a service-based education practice website:

  • Mobile-friendly layout so parents and professionals can use the site on any device.
  • Clear calls to action across key pages to support inquiries and consultations.
  • Service page templates that allow easy additions and updates as offerings grow.
  • Blog setup to support ongoing content and resources.
  • Basic tracking and search tools so visitor behavior and search visibility can be reviewed.

The site was also planned to support future add-ons, such as an email newsletter tool and a digital resources area for downloadable materials or courses, without needing a full rebuild.

The Result

The final website provides a clear, supportive experience that helps visitors quickly find the right service and understand what to expect. The structure makes it easier for families to take the next step, and it gives educators and school partners a simple way to explore training, contracting, and evaluation options.

Key outcomes include:

  • A clearer service layout that separates offerings by audience, reducing confusion and improving usability.
  • A homepage built to guide visitors to the right next step, whether they are seeking support, training, or school-based services.
  • Stronger trust signals through testimonials, affiliations, and clear explanations of the practice’s approach.
  • A structure that supports future growth, including courses, downloadable resources, and ongoing blog content.
  • A site foundation that supports ongoing improvements through basic tracking and search setup.

The result is a clean, organized website that supports both families and professionals, while giving the practice a platform that can grow alongside its services.
